Back and forth and in and out and...

The Missed Connection stayed over last night. There are some things in this world I will never understand, and one of them is how another person's smell can be so ridiculously intoxicating. There's no rhyme or reason to it, I'm pretty sure. I mean, her pheromones can't be so different from anyone else's, right? And yet I Solemnly Swear on my favorite pair of underpants that her smell is killer hella wicked good to me, so much so that I sometimes imagine it while I'm sitting around, just so I can keep my brain busy for a second. Mmm, Missed Connection.
But yeah. She left her cellular telephone at home yesterday, and mentioned that she'd probably return to find crazy amounts of messages waiting for her. I agreed.
She pointed out that the communication lag is so short now that people expect nothing less than Immediate Response when they contact someone. Where even a few years ago we'd have expected a return on communication within one or two days, we now expect a response after a few hours. It's true. I almost always expect an email back by the end of the night if I sent one midday.
Which brings me to the piece of inanity that I now report to you, most beloved Reader. I emailed The Missed Connection at 6:30 or so, just when I got home. She has not emailed me back, and is infact most likely asleep in her delightful bed (that, incidentally, smells just like her and is covered in the world's softest sheets, ever). To this I say: Boo and Hiss.
I want my back and forth to be Back and Forth, quick like the bunny and whatnot. None of this waiting a whole day thing, right? Right. I am feeling sleepy and petulant. Blah blah blah.
